Message: “Continue in Him, so that when He appears we may be confident and unashamed” (1 John 2:28).

  • Let your security come from abiding—not performance or approval.
  • Live with eternity in view, confident in His return.

Ch 1: The Light and the Confession. John opens by affirming the reality of Jesus’ incarnation and invites believers into fellowship with God. He emphasizes that walking in the light requires honesty about sin and confidence in God’s forgiveness.

Ch 2: The Obedience and the Discernment. John teaches that knowing God is evidenced by obeying His commands. He warns against loving the world and urges believers to recognize and reject false teachers who deny Christ’s true nature.

Ch 3: The Identity and the Integrity. John reminds believers that they are children of God and calls them to live righteously. Love is the defining mark of God’s people, and hatred is incompatible with the gospel.

Ch 4: The Love and the Testing. John declares that God is love and that believers must love one another. He also instructs them to test the spirits to discern truth from error, especially regarding the incarnation of Christ.

Ch 5: The Assurance and the Victory. John closes by affirming that faith in Jesus as the Son of God brings eternal life. He encourages believers to pray confidently, overcome the world, and rest in the assurance of salvation.
